Massimo Bartolini

Massimo Bartolini and Gert Robijns crossed paths on several occasions in the context of group exhibitions. What began as a shared curiosity about each other’s artistic practice gradually evolved into a lasting and substantive dialogue. Their working practices became intertwined through conversations, encounters, and mutual engagement. Their paths also crossed in Rome, where they got to know each other through Mario Pieroni and Dora Stiefelmeier. Further collaborations emerged from that exchange. Robijns invited Bartolini to participate in Free Spaces, a project he initiated and organized at Z33 in Hasselt. A few years later, a new invitation followed, during which Bartolini presented his work at re set, the restored home of Robijns’ grandparents.
