Massimo Bartolini and Gert Robijns have encountered one another on multiple occasions within the context of group exhibitions. Their interest in each other’s artistic practice is mutual and has developed over time into an ongoing exchange. Their trajectories also intersect in Rome, where they meet through Mario Pieroni and Dora Stiefelmeier. Robijns previously invited Bartolini to participate in Free Spaces, a project he initiated and organised at Z33 in Hasselt. In 2018, a subsequent invitation followed, during which Bartolini presented his work at Re:set, the restored house of Robijns’ grandparents.
