Re set Mobile
During the COVID period, when physical encounters became impossible and the Re set Haspengouw greenhouse project stalled in a permit process, Re set Mobile emerged as an alternative working model. Together with architect Seppe Claes, Gert Robijns developed a lightweight, temporary structure. From a single central pole, 24 poles extend outward, held in place by ropes and carrying a stretched membrane. The construction is simple, mobile, and quick to assemble. The 24 poles refer to the 34 meridians and are projected from the central point onto a world map. Each line is assigned a number and functions as the starting point for a trajectory. In this way, Re set Mobile has traveled to different geographical contexts, including Argentina, Japan, and Iceland. Re set Mobile operates as a nomadic platform: a temporary architecture that seeks out artists worldwide, documents their practices, and gathers their stories. These encounters are then brought back to one fixed place, Re set Home, where they are concentrated, shared, and further developed.
